WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT?

CONVIVE represents the combined power of strong elements brought together.

Far back, the word was used to represent a comrade who joined the table. For drinking, eating, plotting and more… Over time, the word came to represent the act of feasting together. Coming together to create a conviviality… Eventually, the word fell out of common usage.

Until now.

CONVIVE represents the combined power of cinematic elements brought together; of image and of wordJoin us at the table to find out more…

STORY FIRST

At CONVIVE it is crucial that every element of our work respects the importance of story.

The written word, the moving image and, ultimately, the vision of the work are all core ingredients on which we focus. There is no one without the other. Anything else just wouldn’t be… convivial.

And through it all: story first.

It may sound simple, but it is so often ignored. We approach storytelling entirely through the writing, cinematography, direction and producing inherent to our work.

And there is something magical when we do that…

WHO WE ARE

JoasAward-winning director of photography whose immense skill with both camera and lighting results in composition that is comparable to the finest paintings. Dedicated approach to craft and commitment to story mean he is never ‘only’ a cinematographer on a movie. He is the production.

MattAward-winning writer with a clear voice, distinct rhythms and carefully curated tone in his work. Combined experience as a long-time producer and now-emerging director yields a fresh vision. Commitment to story means he is never ‘just’ a writer or ‘director’. Without him, there is no story.
